On November 12, 2015, the Sheboygan County Democratic Party held a forum and asked you what are the important issues facing us in Sheboygan County. YOU came and YOU spoke. All of the issues were listed and prioritized according to the discussion groups. Our Education Committee has taken this information and produced a list of these issues that are now action plans for the Party.

The number one issue was voter registration and protection. Education and American jobs were also at the top of the list. What are we doing with this information?

A large scale effort, with many volunteers, are canvassing to insure voters have the information they need to get registered and obtain proper ID. If they need help accomplishing this, assistance is given. This is an on-going project. If you are able to help, contact Mary Jo Stoelb at 920-627-3122. She is coordinating the project.

Also, at the party headquarters open house, on April 24, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until about 4:00 p.m. Robert Reich’s increasingly famous film “Inequality For All” will be shown. All are welcome to attend. Do not miss the film’s accurate economic explanation of where the nation is, how it got there, and what could be next. This film will be available for other county parties throughout Wisconsin to view in their communities, hopefully before the November presidential election.

Also, the Education Committee brought Forum issues to a wearable format with a T-shirt design. These American-made, union-made T-shirts will display your issues. The design is being finalized and will appear here. These are T-shirts you will be proud to wear as they bring to the public the issues you feel are important. Wearing these T-shirts will show others what is important to you and also state what the Democratic Party supports and cares about. They will be available at the Headquarters soon. More information will be posted when they arrive.

The local party is building a float to be used in parades that will include the Forum ideas, beginning with “We The People” which will rotate messages on the float.

Also, the Education Committee is developing handouts which reference Forum issues. This literature will be available at the Headquarters and the web page as we complete it.

A “thank you” to all of you who participated in the forum. Any additional ideas that you may have, please call 920-395-5540 or post thru the web page.
