Last night the President spoke directly to the voters about his vision for an economy that grows starting from the middle class out. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, spent the night on the defensive, doubling down on the same bad ideas that crashed the economy, and got testy when he was asked to name any specific program or loop-hole he would cut or close.

Romney confirmed that he opposes one single dollar in new revenue to reduce the deficit and continued to hide the details about how he’d accomplish his plans because he knows they don’t add up and would place the burden on the middle class.

He also tried to run away from the $5 trillion tax cut he’s been touting for months which favors the wealthy, refusing to say how he would protect consumers after repealing Wall Street reform. He also did not offer a single idea to protect families from insurance company abuses after repealing Obamacare.

Tonight the American people saw the clear contrast between where the two candidates would take the country in the next four years.

Why We Need You More Than Ever To Get Our Message Out

So We’re Less Than 5 Weeks Away From the Election…

Mitt Romney spent last evening avoiding specifics because the specifics are the same as the failed policies that the Republicans have had in the past, policies which would continue in a Romney administration.

We know what he stands for, and we know it would be devastating for the middle class.  This is why we have to spend every minute we can over the next 33 days speaking with undecided voters and making sure they know that the President is the candidate that is fighting for them.

We need your help more than ever to make sure we win Wisconsin and the election for President Obama, send Tammy Baldwin to the US Senate, send Joe Kallas to Congress, put Tanya Lohr in the State Senate, get Mike Helmke and Steve Bauer elected to the Assembly, re-elect Ellen Schleicher Register of Deeds, get Dave Wehrwein in as County Clerk, and keep Joe DeCecco as District Attorney!

We truly have the best candidates for these positions, and they all need your help to make sure we win in November.  Stop in and make some phone calls or walk a canvass route.

This is how we win, by having conversations with our neighbors about how important the issues are to us and how our candidates will best represent our values in government. We must continue these conversations up until the last person has a chance to vote on November 6th.

If you don’t think you can make phone calls or canvass, there are other important jobs to be done at the headquarters.  If you’ve never called or canvassed before, we have the tools and training to get you on your way and we can find a partner for you to canvass with.
